Terms of Use

These Terms govern your use of HALO Desktop Search, published by METRIX - HALO. By downloading, installing, or using HALO, you agree to these Terms.

1. License Grant

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use HALO on devices you own or control.

HALO Free: Use during the 30-day trial period and in view-only mode after expiry.

HALO Pro (€25.99): Full feature access on up to two devices. Perpetual license including all future updates.

2. Restrictions

• Do not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or sublicense the Software or your license key.
• Do not reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Software.
• Do not share, resell, or transfer your license key to another person.
• Do not attempt to circumvent the trial system, license validation, or any technical protection measure.

3. Purchase and Payment

HALO Pro is available for a one-time payment of €25.99 processed by Stripe. All purchases are final. We do not offer refunds except where required by applicable law, including the EU 14-day right of withdrawal for digital goods not yet accessed.

Your license key will be delivered by email within minutes of purchase. Contact support@metrix.com.de if you do not receive it.

4. Trial Period

HALO includes a 30-day free trial with full access to all features. No payment required. After the trial expires, search and indexing require activation with a valid license key.

5. Updates

HALO Pro license holders receive all future updates free of charge. We reserve the right to change, add, or remove features at any time.

6. Intellectual Property

HALO and all related intellectual property are owned by METRIX - HALO. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

HALO is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We do not warrant that HALO will be error-free or uninterrupted. We strongly recommend maintaining regular backups of your data independently of HALO.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, METRIX - HALO shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of HALO. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for your license in the 12 months preceding the claim.

9. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Germany. Disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of German courts, unless mandatory consumer protection laws in your country provide otherwise. EU consumers may also use the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
